To those with front sway bars and lowered e90/e92's

My setup is currently KWv2 (dropped 1" from sport height in front) and adjustable UUC front/rear sway bars.

I found that with a 1" drop, the front UUC sway bar is rubbing the CV joint (one of the arms to the front wheels)--it seems the sway bar is not clearing the CV joint. I called UUC and they have not heard of this problem. It's also peculiar because the adjustable endlinks that came with my sway bars are stock length at SHORTEST.

What setups are you guys running? Does nobody else run KWv2's and UUC sways?

I talked to Mike @ UUC and he says that he's sold hundreds of these and has not once had a problem like this... I told him that I think it was the end links because they are impossible to shorten past stock length, and Mike said that those are the ones he always ships out with the UUC sways. He didn't really have an explanation as to why I am having this problem and nobody else does.

However, he agreed to get some new center pieces from some end-links he had, cut off 1/2" from each side so the center piece would be shorter, and ship them to me today. Both Mike and I believe this will fix the problem, but this remedy does not explain why the problem happened in the first place.

The only other thing I can think of is that the sway bar was not installed properly, but I had it installed by the BMW dealership (mostly because I didn't want to deal with the rear sway bar installation). I think a botched install is unlikely, but I'll be sure to check when I get back under the car next week after I get my new, shortened center pieces for the end links.

Can you post a pic of the front install. I remember somone did the front bar backwards a while ago with the same interferance problems. He destroyed the shocks. You can trace down the thread and see for your self.

Well, the shocks are off right now -- i posted that problem up 3months ago haha...

However, I'm about to re-install the coilovers back onto the car... I'll be sure to check if the sway bar is installed backwards... I never thought of that, but it could definitely be an issue... I'll check...

Both bars can be put on backward which is surprising but I have seen it and the end results are bent tabs on the strut or frame indentation in the rear. There should be a lot of clearance around the bars especially in the front.

Does anyone have a picture as to how the front sway bar is SUPPOSED to be oriented?? My sway bar was installed by a good shop, so this was the last problem I thought could happen... but it does seem likely now. I want to send them a picture of how the front bar is supposed to be oriented so they have something to compare to.

There is a thread with some pictures of bent kw v2 br tabs with the bar put in the wrong way. It was some time ago but at least it will shown what not to do.
