Akebono 918 vs. 918A front pads?

Does anyone know the difference between the Akebono 918 and 918A parts and which one would be correct for the front pads on my 2011 335?

FCP Euro shows the 918A, while the actual Akebono online catalog shows 918. ECS lists 918. Rockauto lists 918.

I'm not sure what the difference is or why FCP says both fit the 335i. But I have the Akebono 918 pads on my car (bought from FCP) so I can assure you that those definitely fit (335i and 335d share the same brakes).

EUR918 and EUR918a are for different BMW applications:

If I compare the pictures on Amazon (assuming they are correct), there's a spring clip on the backs of all pad on the EUR918 model and there is only a spring clip on two of the four pads on the EUR918A model. I'm sure the spring clip different is why they're for different applications. Make sure you get the right ones for your application.

Take a look at the pictures.

appreciate the info. Looks like the FCP Euro site is wrong in showing the 918A pad for my car.

Both versions are okay to use.
I guess BMW decided at some point to simplify their inventory and only recommend using the version without clips (918A type).

"The previous version (A) with retaining spring (1) is replaced by brake pads of version (B) without retaining spring!
Installing brake pad sets of equipment specification (A) with retaining spring continues to be permitted."
