clunk only at low speed?

why is driving on high ways much more quieter than the surface/city streets? im trying to pinpoint a rear clunk. its not the rear end links because the clunk is still there after i disconnected the end links from the car.

Maybe upper strut mounts? When was the last time you replaced them? What did you change before you started hearing the noise?

A clunk In the rear suspension could be a whole lot of things. There are so many control arm bushings on and around the subframe it's not even funny. I know, I've replaced every single one of them.

I would have guessed the rear swaybar links.

Start by going around with your torque wrench and making sure all the connections are spec. Use your Bentley Repair Manual and bmwfans.info as your main resources.
