Stain help - nail polish on leather
Hi everyone,
a coworker's daughter spilled nail polish on his back seat. Any suggestions on helping him get it out? she tried to wipe it up,but as you can see, didn't really get it all.. any suggestions? obviously, we don't want to discolor the leather. Thanks all ![]() |

I would first go to one of those stores in the mall that sell only leather clothing to see what they recommend, if they don't have anything that works, try nailpolish remover, or acrylic paint thinner. Im not too sure if these will stain the leather but I think if you only use a littlt bit, then quickly wipe it down with water+soap after your done to clean off all the thinner if should be ok.
good luck! |

^ you do not want to use the nail polish remover or acrylic paint thinner, you will fuck the shit up out of your leather.
try some goo gone, but apply liberally...also try an artgum eraser or if all else fails, sand paper... |

that just hurts to look at. There used to be a leather stick out there that looked like a clear chap stick sort of. I had it once and used it to take out pen marks from leather. You would apply it let it sit for a while and then wipe it clean. Sorry I dont have the name of it any longer but I think it was called Fredericks magic leather stick but dont quote me on that.

Wow, that sucks.
I would say the only way to safely get that off is to use a steam cleaner.

Personally I would try in this order:
1. Lexol Cleaner 2. Woolite liquid laundry detergent diluted 6:1 3. Steam Cleaner I have never tried using goo gone on leather so don't know if that will work......don't know if it will stain. |
