Oil is used to mainly lubricate the turbo, but can act as cooling. Coolant is used for cooling.

Just to add to that, many journal bearing turbos are exclusively oil-cooled, but ours are water-cooled and oil-lubed/cooled.

And oil, in this application, IS acting as a coolant (well, in all applications really).

As far as I know, there are not any oil cooled DBB turbos on the market......
