Menzerna IP turned into powder?

So, I got my order from Detailed Image this week...so today I started at 0630 washing and claying and polishing. It is now 1800 and I am waiting on my microfiber towels to wash and dry so I can seal the car.
When I got to the polishing, I went with an orange pad (lake country) and the Menzerna IP. I had a few places that needed some cutting, so I only used that combo in those places. Thing is, after about the third panel, I started getting a lot of dusty powder right as I would turn up the PC to start working the polish.
This didn't happen at all with the Menzerna finishing polish that I used on the rest of the car.
What am I doing wrong?

I had the same problem and it was due to high temp and to much polish.

You may be using too much polish, causing it to cake up on the pad and dust once the lubricants dry out. However IP does dust a lot even if using the proper amount.

+1 on what 328i said. The Menzerna polishes get very dusty even if you are using them correctly. Just spizz your pad with some water every so often to try to minimize it.

If you're pad is caked up, this will continue to happen until you clean it or swap it out for a new pad. When I polish a car, I use a new pad every couple panels (the alternative being sit there and clean it out after each panel). As others have mentioned, other factors may contribute to IP dusting, one of the big benefits of upgrading to Super Intensive Polish is less dusting.

Hope that helps.
