HOT!! E90 LED Taillights are here!! Blackline look | First US install!

I dunno about my claim as the first US install, but certainly JLEVI's first installed customer, and one of the first to get this in the States! I was at their shop on Thursday when Jon pulled up and said, 'hey, come on in, I have something to show ya'.

Let's just say, if you're looking for blacklines like me, the E90 LED Tail Lights from JLEVI are a no brainer, especially at that price!! Great fit, solid connection, an overall high quality build.

Installation was super easy, and the friendly and very helpful guys at JLEVI went above and beyond to assist.

Warning Note: If you have error codes from JLEVI's License Plate LEDs, you will probably throw error codes with the LED Taillights as well. My car is a 10/06 production (so I'm guessing pre-Mar 07 cars are susceptible). Still, it's a small price to pay for the awesome look.

Turn signals are Solaris bulbs from JLEVI.

BEFORE: Sorry, showing off my full detail from a month ago. Only before pic I had.

AFTER: Dirty car 2 weeks without a wash. Will post clean pics after. Remember, you're looking at the taillights, not the POP in the paint from my professional detail. Wanted to point out the subtle effect to avoid subconscious bias, since I detail cars

EDIT - DUSK SHOTS: Turns out my camera has a cool remote I never used. Here are some evening shots. In retrospect, I should've taken it at a side angle, as the LEDs head on saturated the camera lens so you can't really see the LEDs distinctly.

Yes, only the brake lights are LEDs, but you can purchase LEDs separately for the turn signals, or in my case, Solaris chrome bulbs (blinks amber) so you don't see that amber bulb through the clear lens.

Your wish is my command. Found a remote for my camera and went outside to take a few shots. See editted original post. Next time I will take it at an angle so you can see the LEDs more distinctly.

Winston, glad Jon found out the source of the error- a missing bulb was all it was!

Looks great! How's the quality and brightness compared to stock? Pics of 2 cars side by side?

And do the LED's light up briefly every 30 secs or so due to the car's computer checking for bulb condition? If so, is it obvious and would it be distracting to the driver behind?

Thanx much.

Is there anything in the works that would convert this to a FULL LED setup? Meaning the lightbars are LED (instead of bulbs) and turn signals? Would it be possible to have the lightbars wrap around the side like the OEM?

Sorry for all the questions!

I will let Winston answer your questions as well but these are among the top quality aftermarket pieces we have seen. They are equivalent to the Eagle Eyes LED tails that we have been doing for the E46s for quite some time now.

The LEDs do not flash every few seconds either. If they did, that would pose a serious safety hazard and would not be suitable for use.

We offer an LED turn signal option so you can have rear turn signals in LED. We have not tried to replace the light bars with an LED output but I have found that there is no point as once illuminated, it would look identical.

I am definitely picking some of these up after I repair the damage on my wallet from the tint job I just got! Perfect timing, though, as I was gonna pull the trigger on the oem blacklines before I saw these.

Nice!!

Don't know whether smoked or clear would look better on my SSII M3/E90.
If anyone has pictures, please post!

Do the Bimmian Solaris Electrum Chrome Bulbs have the same color when blinking?

THANKS!

I've seen the smoked ones on your website... any pics of smoked ones installed so that we can assess the "smokiness" of them? Or are they pretty much similar to the OEM blacklines in "smokiness"?

Oh, another question, I suppose these units are not completely DOT compliant b/c I don't see any reflectors (rear or side) built into the housing?

Thanx.
