Who's rolling 17s on their 335i? Pics?

Cause you wanted to get rid of the run flats + save money + save weight right?

I'm thinkin the 17 Rial Salerno wrapped in 225/45/17 on all 4 corners, no stagger = easy tire rotation

Gotta love the Salernos, but spring for the OEM E36 center caps - the Rial caps are el-cheapo looking.

I use Rial Salerno 17's with Dunlop M3 runflats for winter. Bought them pre-mounted from TireRack. Love them! They actually look pretty close to the stock Style 189 18's. I use BMW OEM center caps and stock black wheel bolts.

Meh,buncha haters in here.

If you get a wheel w/ the spoke going all the way to the rim it'll look pretty big. I've seen some 17s that look bigger than 18s because of this effect.

If you are going to be purchasing new tires, I suggest going with 18s. I'd be all for 17s if all you wanted to do was to change wheels styles, but if you're looking to be rid of those RFT tires, you might as well go for 18" wheels in silver color. It'd really change the look of your car.

I've looked into the costs a bit and I'm pretty sure it's a no cost, maybe even a money maker on selling the stock 18s w/ RFTs and 'down grading' to after market 17 NRTs

As I said it was just before putting on my summer wheels. Also cleaned engine bay, swapped winter mats for summer ones, etc!

I have 17" salernos wrapped with wintersport M3 DSSTs for my winter set.

to the poster thats using the OEM black lugs: i think that the taper or bolt length is different than the OE lugs, i would be careful using the oem bolts. tire rack typically does not include lugs unless you need to use them.

as for 17s vs 18s. it boils down to form vs function. there's nothing wrong with 17s, they're typically lighter than comparable 18s, tires cost less, have a less jarring ride.

when i got my first bmw in 2001, 17s were the hot setup, 18s not as popular. fast forward 7 years, 18s are the standard, 19 + are desirable.

autocross and track junkies still far prefer 17s over 18+

that being said, my summer rims are 18s. 19s wouldn't survive NYC roads.

They are identical to the stock lugs except for color. I thought TireRack include those zinc plated ones becasue they are more resistive to corrosion, perhaps?

lol anyone who says those wheels are from the 90s obviously have never actually driven their car... I run on Kosei K1 wrapped in Bridgestone RE01R 245/45/ZR17 and am waiting for Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec in the same fitment. This combination gives an awesome autocross/track wheel/tire combo. The ONLY reason I'm planning to plus size next year is to fit a BBK. Besides that a 245/40/17 combo has a nice low profile, the only reason I went with 45 is because they were cheaper. Oh and yea I'm paying like half as much for tires as the guys on 19" wheels
