Do downpipes throw a CEL?

I was thinking of getting these with hi-flow cats and wanted to know if they throw a check engine light after they are installed. Anyone? Anyone?

Hey vegasspeed!!!
Catless DPs will surely throw codes.
If you install catted DPs will NOT induce any Limp modes or CEL

We've tested both cases in similar cars/mods and the catted ones worked perfectly without O2 Sims

Here is the thing. Will hi-flow cats throw any codes? If not I can pull them out when I need to bring the car in for service and still be good, right? Yes, I do know that would be an absolute pain in the ass to take out and put in. I am just looking at things.

Depends on how much effort it is to take them out.

How much time and how much if you take it to muffler shop?

Sometimes they do throw codes. I remember some people throwing errors and getting royally pissed about paying extra and still inducing CELs. Best thing to do is to grab a set of O2 Simms just in case and make sure you don't mess up the order of the O2 sensors(precat vs postcat). It may also take a while to throw a code - usually 50 miles is the car's driving cycle where it analyzes a change as a permanent malfunction of the cats. If you have an early 07 build with no progman updates you should be fine. But now most people are not in this area and would probably throw codes.

If you have a tune, you will have a higher chance of throwing a CEL with catted DPs.
