Which car to Buy?

I am debating between a

135 , 335 , M3

Aside from jumping ahead and saying get the M3 what do you guys think is the best to get given a somewhat restricted budget. What sort of monthly expenditure am I looking for a lease or a buy for these cars? Does the M3 still have a markup?

I would go 335... Doesnt make sense to go M3 when you can flash/upgrade ECU and have just as mucg power, if not more.

135 is also a good option in that case, just looks like you cant afford a 335, IMO, lol

I have the exact dilemma man, choice between an E92 M3 or an E92 335. I main issue between the two is mainly gas problem. I am most certain to switch out my car maybe around mid 2009 and have been thinking about this issue. I really enjoy my experience with my E90 and BMW and so getting another BMW is something I wish to do, and this time around I want something a lot more powerful than my 325....

Anywayz which ever car I get will be my daily car, and I don't know which one is a better choice. I know the M3 is definitely not going to be gas friendly, but I have been wanting a high performance sports car for my life. I don't really want to wait any longer. However, will I regret after I get? Please if anyone can give me (AND THE OP OF COURSE) some insight or advise would be much appreciated!!!!!

Purchase the vehicle that you will be able to afford. I just purchased an 08 335i coupe for 48k before tax/license fees.

+1 stay within a budget so you can handle the gas and insurance. Also the 0.9% financing is awesome and it could stick around for August, but we have no way of knowing.

I can't help you with what type of payment you are going to be making on any three of those cars for a lease or buy, but I can give you my opinion on this dilemma. I am a former 335i owner who is about to step into an M3 in a few months. I was also considering going the way of the 135i, but decided not to against my better judgment.

As far as the gas argument goes, I don't think that this argument applies. Yeah, the M3 has the worst gas mileage of the three, but if you are able to afford the M3, the extra 500-1000 that you are going to save on gas is neglible compared to the 20k+ price difference between the two. I think that the most important thing to ask yourself is what are you truly looking for? If you are looking for the best bang for your buck and styling/space aren't as important, go the way of the 135i. If you want pure sport performance for everday and track driving, go the M3. If you are like goldilocks and are looking for a compromise, go with the 335i.

I don't know what your financial situation looks like, but I'd recommend the 135i. You'll save the most money, get 335i or better performance, and have a car that gets great gas mileage.

To answer your last question, yes the M3 might still have a markup in some places in SoCal, but you'd be a fool to pay it. Many are negotiating several k off MSRP.

Good luck.

M3 = no 0.9% finance, poor lease rates, but deals to be had since they aren't moving
3 series = 0.9% finance, so/so lease rates, some deals to be had
1 series = no 0.9%, poor lease rates, very little deals to be had (unless you work at it).

1 series are rare
M3 is rare
3 series = a bajillion every where you look.

if you want a car that will get you looked at everywhere you drive, let me introduce you to my sexy friend, the Audi A5:
