Silver I-Drive screen

Can someone post a photo of their silver i-drive screen please? I can't tell if mine is silver or brown. It's sort of a silver that fades to brown.

TBH i'd like one too. Like i2iSTUDIOS, my idrive menu has both brown and silverish colors... on top of that, my car was recently updated with the new software (in combo with HPFP), yet there was no noticeable change to the idrive menu at all.

Yup, me too, I want to see if I actually got the 29.2 or not.

THANKS! funny how it's called silver vs. brown. There is still a ton of brown in it. Since i never saw the brown version I was couldn't tell what my car had. thx.

Looks like I've got the old "brown-ish" version.
How do I get the update, will the dealer update it to the newer version for free? Just ask (again)? The last time I asked for it at the yearly maintenance visit ; they didn't update it bc according to them I had the latest version. I know I don't! :-(

I just got mine updated by the service department because I made a few complaints. The I-Drive screen is definitely silver, mine doesn't have any hint of brown in it. It looks cool with my aluminum trim.

I'm running a 335i SE Coupe - UK registered in 2006 - I believe it was one of the early launch models. I have the brown screen - what do I need to do to get the dealer to update it?

i.e. what complaints work?

Do you want turbo lag? If not leave it well alone.

Aside from the BIG disadvantage you mention, am I missing out on any goodies? I assumed it was just an upgrade to the idrive rather than to the electronics as a whole...

No it's a complete update unfortunately, so until(big if) BMW reverses the changes made in 29.2 you might want to be happy with your peppy car, especially if you aren't having any iDrive issues right now.
