What to do? - Problem with a sale on E90Post
Ok so here is the back story:
I was getting my car washed sometime in late April and while exiting the wash I accidentally went over a curb I didn't see and rashed up my right side skirt. I took it to a shop for a quote and they said about $220 to fix and repaint or $230 for a new one which would also be painted. I decided to see if anyone was selling theirs on here and found someone. I didn't need both skirts but decided to buy the set as it saved me close to $100 anyway. Well I bought them from the guy on 5/20 via paypal after seeing some pics of them where they looked pretty scratch free and they came within a few days but I got really busy with work. So about a month or so goes by (to July 1st) and I finally have some time to take them over to the shop, so I leave the car there and get an unexpected call about 15 min later. The skirts apparently had some major dimpling in them from the pins. The guy at the shop said it looked like they were taken off and then reinstalled by hammering the pins in and it made dimple marks on the outside. He said my rashed up skirt was in better shape than these were in his opinion. So I contacted the guy I got um from, he responded about a day later saying he wasn't sure what was wrong with the skirts but he was willing to work stuff out with me and I should get back to him with whats wrong and what I would like to do. I replied and told him the story of how they were messed up and were in pretty bad shape, yet it was unnoticeable in the photos. That was July 1st and since that 1st email... he has not responded back to anything. He told me he wasn't on here much anymore cuz he doesn't have his BMW anymore, but he seemed to answer that 1st PM pretty fast. Since then, I have PM'ed him about 10 times, posted in the original thread about 3-4 times and also went to paypal and got his regular email and sent him 2-3 emails about the situation as well. I can't file a dispute on paypal because when I found out they weren't in good condition like he said they were, I was past the dispute filing date. What the hell should I do now? I now am out $120 and have a set of skirts that are in crappy shape. Advice please..... -Badger |

It's tough when you are buying something like this from a forum....you are basically placing a certain degree of trust in someone that you probably don't know. It makes it a little bit easier if the seller has some i trader info...but that's not always the case. Sorry for your trouble....but like mentioned above...at least it only cost you $120. It could have been a lot worse. I hope he gets back to you and tries to work something out.

hahaha yeah, well his iTrader is an 11 so he's obviously a reputable guy... it just pisses me off he offers to fix things then disappears afterwards and doesn't respond to my emails.
i'd almost be more accepting with the situation if he had never answered. |
