Question about burbles

Pretty dumb question but i'm mainly just curious. If i ran a burble tune with my full stock n54 335i would my car be able to burble? I’m planning to go catless downpipes in the future but was just curious to see based on other people’s experiences. Really want those nice burbles the fastest way 😂

Yes, you would get burbles with just the settings on a stock car.

It would be very quiet through the stock exhaust but it can be heard.

Catless downpipe will certainly help

If you're E90, forget about it...won't hear anything; catless DPs or otherwise.

I set the MHD burble to 1.5 seconds and aggressive and I could definitely hear some decent burble. Wasn't super loud, but definitely there and sounded cool. My exhaust is completely stock, DPs and all. I ended up turning it off so I didn't fry my cats.

Could depend on the year. My 2008 pre LCI e90 has a resonator which almost completely mutes the burble. My understanding is the LCIs have an xpipe like the e92 which seem to burble more.

LCI is irrelevant. All E90s have the resonator.

i have no secondary cats or resonator on my n54 and the burble is amazing, my buddy however, has stock exhaust and catless dp's and was really disappointed at how little burble he's got. If you go full catless, you WILL hear them, all the time.

Mine burbles naturally like crazy without the MHD burble option. I just have stock exhaust with a muffler/secondary cat delete. Tuned stage 1. The Mhd burble option sounds and is fake in my opinion

The car does it factory stock, just hard to hear. Its just extra fuel in the exhaust. I'm sure with parts that are worn out its not going to help anything.

Does exactly what the car does anyway from the factory, its just tuned to make a specific sound(its even adjustable). By that degree, upping the boost is fake power because you tuned it.

My car factory tune burbled like mad with modified stock exhaust, now I have it tuned to be stock in drive but extra burbles in sport mode and its nice because I dont have to hear it all the time but if the kids want to have some fun its there.

Damn that's sweet. I was on the fence on doing second cat delete but now I think I will.

I swapped my factory exhaust for n55 rwd with no secondaries or resonator. Even stock tune the car felt significantly better with just that swap. The color of the pipes was crazy, the one that came off had all kinds of discoloration before and after the cats and resonator, you could tell it was choked off and getting hot from poor flow.

Now my car also had 148k when I did the swap but, I feel like most of these cars are old enough to benefit from eliminating restrictions.

Oh damn that's a nice set up to. And oh yeah any restriction you can remove is never bad I believe for the car.

I got some 1792 vibrant resonators to remove the second cats.

How do you like the sound with catless downpipes? Do you have any recordings/video?

Been thinking of getting this done.

Sorry are you saying how it sounds with catless DPs + second cat replaced by resonators or just catless DPs?

I haven't removed second cats yet I only have catless DP.

I do have standing video of revving with catless DPs only and exhaust valve always open:

Oh, you don't have the 1792 resonators in yet? My mistake.
