Cop heard my turbos spooling!!!
Yea.....thats what I said....WTF. I am waiting in the the left turn lane and I see a cop sitting at the opposite light so of course when I had a chance to make a left I drove like grandpa. Sure enough the piece of shit busts u-turn and puts on the cherries.....I had a feeling I was gonna get busted only because I have no front plate n I get hassled for this once in a while. So he pulls me over n says " do you know why I stopped u?" I said "let me guess...my liscence plae?" He tells me NO but now I got you on that too! He says that he could hear my turbos spooling so I must have been ripping it. I immediatelt flipped cause I was seriously driving like grandpa. He obviously new that this car came turbo because these tiny baby turbos dont make the slightest sound. My car is 100% stock motor wise btw. So we get into this heated little discussion and he tell me that he is a big car guy, he owns a 500 hp car and that he can recognize when someone is "racing around drving irradically". He actually told me that if he wanted to he can book me on that new racing/speeding law. This jealous SOB had nothin better to do than hassle me. On top of that I was late for my client..he cost me $85 plus the client may never return. Now its also gonna cost me a days pay while Im in court. I ended up only getting a ticket for no liscence plate and for not having the up to date sticker on the back of my registration. Anywho..I just needed to vent ...thanks for listening

I agree with you guys. That cop must have nothing else to do but fill his quota or something.
But the no front plate and expired plate sticker is from your own making. |

I had the same problem, not to be a drag because I was in the same boat, because all though it looks nice, not having a front plate attracts the initial reaction to look at your car. Then it's whatever he wants to do after that. I had the same thing, no front plate, no sticker ( early march, my sticker runs out feb.) I'm not here to rant on you bc I agree sometimes those guys are a little much, but I learned the hard way that if you wanna avoid these type of "guys" it's easier to just keep the front plate on. Stock or not. Didn't mean to offend you if I did, I just don't like seeing fellow E90 owners go through this.

I hear you on the rant.. nothing better to do and just wanted to flex his muscle. Typical.
Like super said, put the plate on one way or another. It sure kills the front end, but not having it attracts positive and negative attention. I got pulled over 3 times with a total of 5 tickets in 6 months without one. Each time it was initially due to no plate..After a while it just isn't worth it. |

Cops have nothing better to do I find sometimes.
How many times have I seen them sitting in empty parking lots during the middle of the day or the middle of the night.. OR ANY TIME for that matter -- doing what...? Shooting the breeze. --- Our tax dollars hard at work. |

I agree that some times , some cops go over board. In OP's case it looks like the cop pulled him over for nothing. Having said that how did the cop knew that your turbo was spooling. He was infront of you in the opposite direction isn't it? How did he knew that you had turbo on your car? From the front the 335 looks like any other 3 series isn't it? I am not saying that you were racing or any thing. But just a question. |

Couple years ago, I was pulled over by a cop on my Prelude. And I have front plate, I have stickers, the car is lowered by 1.5", no tint, just oem bodykit + 17" wheels, so nothing too blink blink. But he gave me ticket on windows too dark, car too low and exhaust too loud! And I told him I have no tint, no exhaust, no engine mod and still have 2 finger gap on wheel fender and 4 in clearance from the front bumper but he just give a attitude that "yes, I just like to give you tickets for no reason and wasting your time!" Too bad I dun have cell phone with camera at that moment, so I can't prove it on court.
Then last year I was pulled over by a cop again on my TSX. I asked her why she pulled me over(I am sure I am not speeding since my kids & wife are all inside the car), she just said "Cop dun need reason to pull you over", well at least she didn't give me ne ticket. |

Do you mean bling bling? lol... I to used to get pulled over in my celica... One time a cop actually approached the car with his hand on the gun holster. Said the tints were too dark, to put my hands on the steering wheel and realized that the car wasn't stolen that it was just registered under my dad's name... loser.

I feel your pain bro....A cop pulled me over for apparently revving too fast from a stop light. I never knew that was a crime. I didn’t break the speed limit, I basically just pulled hard through 1st gear, but he said he could hear me take off from down the street.
