I'm quite happy with ECS GEOMET rotors (mine are the drilled/slotted variety, because racecar ) and Hawk HPS 5.0 pads.
Would definitely also be worthwhile to look at the Zimmerman rotors at FCP Euro, because of the lifetime warranty they provide on all their parts. The plain (non-drilled) ones are on sale right now--$75/ea for the fronts, $65 for the rears. Akebono pads are on sale too. If you went that way, you could get pads, rotors, and wear sensors for the entire car for $450. |

I still prefer the Stoptech/Centric High Carbon rotors. The plating is much thicker and more durable than the "Geomet" type coatings. For pads, Akebono if you don't want dust and don't mind giving up some of the initial bite the OEM pads have. Jurid or Textar if you want OEM compound. I'm personally going to try the StopTech Sports. I used them on my Gen.2 CTS-V and they were great. Very little dust compared to the OEM Ferrodo DS2500 pads and gave up very little in performance in street driving.
You can do front and rear rotors, pads and sensors for about $350 at Rock Auto. If you think you are going to have your car long enough for another brake job... It would be hard to beat the $450 price from FCP even after you factor in the PITA to ship all your used stuff back. |

Slotted is only good on a track as it helps to prevent pad glazing at high temps. They also add extra braking noise as the pads run over the slots, which if you're anal like me will annoy you. For street the centric high carbon blank rotors with a black electro coating is my vote. The electro coating holds up better than what comes with OEM/Zimmerman rotors. If you live in the rust belt you'll appreciate this in a few years when your rotor hat still looks new.

I used Zimmerman rotors and powerstop z26 pads, very happy so far. No dust, solid feel, cheap. Would love to see a back to back comparison against the akebono pads. If akebono is just as good I would go with them because better warranty through fcp.
