Bent pivot pin

After putting 400 miles on my spec stage 3+ clutch, I was having a very hard time putting the car in gear and when I downshifted I could hear a grinding sound sometimes indicating the clutch wasn't disengaging fully. Flushed the clutch fluid and that would help for the first 5 minutes driving and then the symptoms would come back. I pulled the transmission and everything looked fine until I removed the fork lever and noticed the pivot pin was bent. I had replaced the pivot pin when I installed the new clutch so I was surprised.

Is this the cause of my issues? What could have caused the pivot pin to bend?

I was afraid of this exact thing when I did my SPEC 3+ a few weeks ago. I installed one of those aftermarket brass pivot pins just in case. You are technically loading it harder than you would from the factory so it kind of makes sense. I don't know what the actual load from the factory clutch is nor have I done the load calculations for pin deformation, but I work with plastics and I wasn't about to trust that factory plastic pivot pin.

Yeah put everything back together a few days ago and now everything's perfect. I'd say the metal pivot pin is a must for any aftermarket clutch.
