Reddit User Makes 320whp with a cold air intake, 3 stage manifold and a tune

I thought you guys might get a kick out of this. A reddit user claims hes making 320whp with "injen cold air intake -330i 3 stage intake manifold -Catless headers -Resonator and muffler delete -Sprint Booster for throttle response -Tune for the new intake and headers".

Definitely not real. even 320bhp would be a fantasy with those mods (sprint booster, hah!). Maybe if it were a modded S54.

Lots of people in the US get confused when they see a dyno chart from europe as well, as they are usually estimated BHP rather than WHP.

The plot doesn't even work. The torque and HP values cross at 5250 rpm like they should, but the two scales aren't the same like they would be in that case. Torque curve looks like what you'd expect from a 52, but those are some dubiously "generous" values.

Photoshop.

Take a careful look at the fonts used on the axis. Some of the type faces don't match. Well done, but easy to spot.

Example ; HP axis , look at the 260 value, take a close look at the 6. Now look at the 6 in the x axis for RPM. They don't match. A few others are the same.

Ya, I'm sure we could pick this apart pretty easily. Check out the 3 in the 325, HP axis. Does not match others .

Heh. Must have taken some time & effort to put that together. But why? Nobody was going to believe it - not with those mods anyway. Why not go for something more believable, like 260whp or something?

Also the AF curve looks totally stock 328i. Tuned N52s run at more like 13:1.

I actually do think the N52 is capable of 300+ hp but not with just a couple mild bolt ons..

We all know the numbers are BS, just took i minute or two to locate the "workmanship".

Never opened on my PC, I could see the errors on my cell phone.

Sure the N52 has the potential for 300HP but I don't see it happening in the RPM ranges shown on this dyno report.

300ft lbs of torque sub 3,000 RPM with 3 Liters. 3 liter N54s need 6-8 lbs of boost to get that.

yeah, actually it was the torque where I knew it was totally wrong.

300hp would take like 8000+ rpm. Without changing the internals significantly, torque isn't going to change much beyond optimizing what we already have.
