Diversity antenna to CIC head unit.

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me what the exact part number is for the Fakra lead that runs from the Diversity DAB antenna on the rear screen across the head lining, down the A pillar and into the back of the CIC head unit with built in DAB tuner is please?

I'm thinking that the lead must be at fault as the CIC says no reception when selecting DAB but still lists DAB channels, all other functions of the CIC work fine.

When I connect my CCC back in, with the separate DAB unit in the boot, it works fine with the existing Diversity antenna.

My thinking is that the lead I purchased separately when I upgraded from CCC to CIC that runs between the antenna and the CIC unit is faulty so replacing that might allow it to work.

No other coding to the head unit should be needed right?

Thanks.

MAN15H.

I had to replace the same coaxial cable on an E91 recently, however our parts dept couldn't actually source a pre-made lead with the connectors on each end, instead they had to order a length of coaxial cable that I had to cut to length then using a BMW special tool I had to fit the connectors to each end.. not a job I can say I'd enjoy doing again as it was incredibly fiddly

thanks for your response N5GKP.

I have come across this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0BMW-CCC-...AAAOSw0h1c-ld9

Is this the type of cable I need to order?

Its been a while since I took the system apart so cant remember the connections either side of the cable.

Looks like a good bet, however I wouldn't be confident saying it'll be a 100% match because it depends if the connectors are the same as yours.
My advice would be to take photos of both ends of the connectors and contact the eBay seller and either get them to cross reference it, or see if they can send you a photo of what they've got.
Sorry I can't be of more help!

Any coding gurus able to confirm if the CIC unit actually needs some coding to enable the built in DAB to work?

Came across this thread of a retrofit which says they did a little coding to get it to work but don't explain what coding.

https://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/threa...etrofit.49259/

DAB has never worked since I fitted the unit into my car so just assumed it was something like a duff cable. Previous owner confirmed it came out of their car working fine.

Thanks.
