How many washers is too many washers
Just did my front turbo. Shimmed it with 2 washers on each bolt.
Did my vac test and barely closes any sooner. I can still trigger 30ff. I think it’s helped slightly but barely. So how many washers is too many on these bolts? Does anyone know the thread pitch and bolt size? Maybe i can get longer ones? My rear turbo is adjusted to close at 6hg and it does and doesn’t seem as bad as the front. |

I just redid this job. I got cocky and figured it would take like 30 mins. Took me like 3-4 hrs, mainly just to get the damn lower washers in!
How did you guys get he lower washers in? Also my WG still closes at maybe .5 hg shorter than it did pre-washers. I used 2 for each bolt, i think i have to use 4 maybe. I am thinking about purchasing a very long m8 1.25 bolt, putting it in the top, bringing the whole actuator towards me, to more easily slip on washers to the bottom bolt (i would get a slightly longer bottom bolt too in order to account for the shimmed washers) then i will slip them on the top (the top was much easier) |
