Buying new tires for my 328i
So I need new tires for my recently purchased 2009 e90 328i 6sps/sport pkg. It has the OEM style 286 wheels. (17x8 ET34 and 17x8.5 ET39).
Stock tire size is 225/45/17 and 255/40/17, but I am thinking about upping the fronts to 235. Is there much of a benefit by doing this, any concern at all about fitment? I'm likely going to go with performance all-seasons, even though I have dedicated winters. Living in Toronto we have months where temps drop down even without snow, and I would appreciate the increased treadlife (it's a daily). However, I'm open to advice/opinions. As for the tires I am currently leaning towards Conti dws06s. I can get a set for $900 CAD all in installed. Pilot as3+ are $100 more for a set, not sure if it's worth it. I hear the dws06 have slightly better treadlife and snow/ice performance. Thoughts? Also considering General Gmax as05 (closest rear size is 245/40/17) and Gmax as03, both of which might be ~$100 than the Conti's. Thanks |
