Maybe this is a silly question but i keep just hearing about the "design flaws" of our turbo .. and how no matter what .. the metal on metal contact of our wastegate flapper and bushing will wear out ...

So my question is ... what other designs are there? The n55, b48, b58 all use a similar rod and clevis and flapper ... how do they not wear out?

Better yet this design with the clevis and pushrod is on tons of other vehicles .... how are those designed to not wear out?

I've owned my car for 7 years .. before that i had a turbo civic which had an external wastegate ... this is the first vehicle i've ever had with this style wastegate so i'm just trying to LEAAAAAAAAAARN as much as i can about this style of design!

Cant give you a detailed explanation but in short, yes other turbos get wategate rattle commonly, and our stockers are particularly prone.
