Anyone collect art (paintings)?
I kind of dropped photography after going nuts with it for a year or so.. I still like it (I print some of the better photos I take and frame them for my apt), but yea, just need a little change.
I've never been into art really, but got interested after seeing a few oil paintings that I really liked at auctions (they both went for $>100), and right now there is a nice one at a local art/antique store, but it's $800 It's a very very nice painting and is actually alot cheaper than other work the guy did (nicholas briganti) so I don't think it would necessarily be a bad purchase.. Anyhow, anyone else collect at all? What do you have, how'd you get into it, how do you decide how much it's worth to you? |

Collect, collect, collect. I have limited edition prints, statues, original oils and oils I've done. If you buy right, most goes up in value. But I'm an artist too, so my opinion may be biased.

The store wanted like $200 for a "decent" looking frame and two toned matting.. I can do it myself for less than $50 now (including the cost of finding a very fancy frame) |

May I ask what's up with the oranges??? Plus those pics of the women with oranges are very cool. I would hang the middle one on my wall. |

Don't know if you saw my post before, but I copied the crying oranges to my desktop and printed it out. It's up in my cube at work and it makes my co-workers laugh. bellyroll |
