LF: Shop To Get OEM Trim Wrapped In Fabric
im looking for a reputable shop that can cover my OEM aluminum trim in c/f fabric. i know it looks easy and the diy is all there but i want it done professionally weave all lined up, proper glue so no worries about shifting over time, etc; shouldn't be very expensive either. for more info on what im talking about:

i am ordering this fabric too and will be doing the install myself. i'll let you know how it works out. if it comes out good, I might consider helping you out with yours too!

if you pay someone to do it profesionally you might as well just buy the carbon fiber dash peices as it'd be the same price. Plus you will have your oem peices as spare so you can swap them back when you sell the car

?? i think you got your numbers mixed up. a real c/f interior kit for e92 is $1k+. looking on the thread all you need is 2 yards of this fabric which is $50 + shipping so basically less than $100. if i take off my trim pieces myself, provide the spray and fabric all the installer has to do is put it on which is surely less than buying the real deal.

the interior cf trim is only $500 from Adamaster. you can't compare an OEM carbon fiber kits price with a cheap peice of fabric anyway. And i guarantee you won't find a good installer who would waste his time doing this for less than $200 as it takes several hours based on what the DIY says. You can save a whole lot by doing it yourself. But if you don't do it yourself, it defeats the purpose of buying this fabric as a diy.

^ where do you live? do you have the fabric already along with the glue?
i found the kit you are talking about: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...aster+interior for $500 a) it's not a complete kit (missing the rear setup), b) no e92 i drive yet, c) it is an overlay not oem c/f wrapped in high quality c/f, and d) weave looks horrible. put $450 to that and i can get a full c/f kit w/ high quality c/f and perfect weave plus oem parts wrapped in c/f. after sell oem trim, even if it sells for $200 you only spend $750 so that is only $250 more compared to the adamaster kit and is way better.

I was also thinking that once I wrap the trim, I would have my boy clear coat it. I dont know how that would work out, definitely would do a test piece on that too first, but, if it works like I imagine it in my head, , i think THAT would be the SHIT!!! |
