Question about Bimmercode

Hey guys, for anyone using Bimmercode for coding, I'm having a hard time finding a complete list of what can be coded. I know there is a demo before you buy the app but, it seems pretty limited. Can you do everything with Bimmercode that you can with something like Carly? I'm looking for things like DRL control, lighting, and being able to close the windows/roof from the remote. I've never coded but I've read a ton on the forums and watched a bunch of videos. All I'm looking for is for someone to tell me Bimmercode and Bimmerlink are worth the money.

Bimmercodes website does a good job at listing all the possible options that can be coded. Since you're in the 3 series coding page I assume you have an e9X? They just released coding for e9x recently. See the link below to go through available options.

I saw this on the website. I guess what I'm asking is, does all this unlock once you purchase the full version? As far as what's listed on the app before you purchase is pretty limited. And yes I am in a 2012 E92.

For F chassis yes, one time purchase and all coding is unlocked. I'd have to think for E chassis it's the same.

Nice. I think I'll go ahead and take the leap and see what it's all about. I've never coded anything but seems like it's pretty straight forward. We shall see 😂

I was going to mention careful with coding the frm. 2011+ e9x's suffer from frm failure. You are covered under a 10 year 150,000 mile warranty. Brick it by scanning it, pulling the negative terminal or coding it and have it replaced for free at the dealerships. NOTE: bimmercode does not intentionally brick frm's, nor does bmw Carly. Any scanning tool or coding tool that writes or reads data of the frm can brick an frm. Bmw Carly does read boot sector information prior to writing coding data and will not allow it to code if it detects it will brick, I'm glad bimmercode also implemented this type of system as well. Ncs expert would've straight bricked it if you coded the frm

So let me see if I'm reading this right, you're saying brick my frm on purpose?😂

Yes, might as well brick it now and get it replaced since it's faulty. Bmw won't replace it if it hasn't failed. Also make sure windows are up! If it bricks and the windows are down you won't be able to get them back up. Once it's replaced you can do all the coding you want to the frm without any stress.

That seems like an awful lot of work just to do some coding. I wouldn't even know how to go about that.

It's going to eventually fail at some point, since you are a 2012 you'll be under warranty for a while but if I know a part is faulty on my car I'd rather get it replaced sooner than later but that's just me.

There's a good chance if you pull the negative terminal on the battery it'll brick it as it forces it to restart. The article below will explain the warranty and issues with frm
