New N54 Vacuum Side Oil Catch Can Kit

This was released a couple weeks ago and saw it has not been posted here yet. The placement and quick connect fittings make it a really unique and clean setup.

We don't have them in our warehouse yet but can have them drop shipped!

What's the difference between this and rbs external pcv kit?

They are similar as far as I know. This design is cleaner to install and has quick connect fittings rather than traditional hose and clamps.

Something else I should add, with this kit you don't need to add in a Rob Beck PCV, because it already includes an upgraded PCV fitting! You also do not need to cap the ports under your valve cover making it easy to install and remove later if ever needed.

Why don’t you have to cap the ports in the head? Can you explain???

They designed the special PCV fitting to block those ports with a double oring seal in the valve cover eliminating the need making for a much easier installation.

In the ideal scenario, would you still want to plug the head ports like the rb kit?

I have the rb kit installed already. This type of setup catches almost a full can of oil every 1500 miles, it’s insane

There is really no need to plug the head ports, but it won't hurt either. I guess the one benefit there is plugging them eliminates a potential boost leak if your valve cover gasket oring was ever to crack. But, if that happened, you'd still have a PCV leak and want to fix it. Ports plugged or not.

If I order the kit, and I have a BOV already tee-d into my system, do I need a BOV adapter ?

Yes, the BOV adpater has two 1/8" NPT ports. Once for the vacuum OCC checkvalve, and another for your BOV. You'd leave the BOV port capped and just use the 2nd port for the OCC checkvalve.

My kit came yesterday going in with a new VC.

From what I understand if you have the BOV adapter already you would purchase the kit that doesn't come with it. In my case I needed it even though im on stock DV. The BOV adapter will connect to the throttle body with two open NPT fittings one I will block off with provided bung and in the other you screw in the first fitting you see in the 1st pic on the right side of the OCC.

Side note if you're using one of those ~$20 bms occ replicas the inlet and outlet connections are about 1-2mm too small for the inserts with the oring so be prepared to drill or file those a little larger to fit.

What's the price on the kit? I've been wanting to add a catch can to my N54.

Need to check their website there are lots of options depending on what you need. But the full kit both boost and vacuum side cans $399.

I know this is a lil bit old, but I’m curious if you could tell me if this pcv is available separately?

I like the idea of not needing to plug the ports, altho I’ll keep it on the list for when the vc/vcg needs replacement!

The other question was answered already; if the vacuum adapter has 2 ports. 👍

I don’t see that the pcv itself is available separately. I already have the occ and I don’t need the quick connect fittings I’m not that fancy lol.

I have the upgraded(RB?)aluminum pcv and cap, I was wondering if it’s feasible to drill & tap out the cap and put a nipple on there. I imagine it’s not that simple but I haven’t familiarized myself with the system yet to know. It’d be nice to make use of what I already have but I know it doesn’t always work like that.

I think you need the check valve for the vacuum side too, best off getting their cheap $149 kit and reselling parts you have now that won't need then.

I'm running stock DV, so I got the kit without BOV adapter. Tried to install last night. I can't install it because I need a BOV adapter. Their website is pretty counter intuitive for someone running stock DV. I guess I'll have to go buy a BOV adapter, even though I dont have a BOV. Hope they sell them individually and it comes with the plug.

So no one sells just the special/modified pcv separately? Has anyone diy’ed One themselves?

I’m not trying to be a cheap-ass, and I don’t need to sell the stuff I already bought(or could give it away whatever)it’s not worth my time or the hassle. But $One fitty is one fitty. Plus I’ll be needing the bov adapter as well. That’s $190 for an adapter and pcv. Not a lot in the grand scheme but I’d be lying if I said it was ‘cheap’ for what it is.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for these guys/companies that are supporting the platform and I love stuff that’s made in USA. But I don’t like throwing money in the air either. However I know the value & costs of machine work. Not really sure what I’m trying to say here. I guess I’m just bitchin bcuz I wish the pcv & bov adapter was sold separately(& for less $ lol). Again not the end of the world and I’m not looking for a bush fire over it or whatever the kids are calling it these days...

The bov adapter is a cleaner perhaps easier install but you can splice the hose from the TB and put a ‘T’ in there instead. I do think moref people would buy them with the kit if they worded it differently. $55 for an adapter that I can also use for the bov valve ref is worth not dealing with that hard plastic line.
