should i be worried??
idk whats wrong with my car but its making me really mad and im afraid to drive it now. 2 days ago i started up my car and the service light is on and at idle it would rev up and then go back down and then rev up again non stop for a couple minutes and while im driving it almost feels like its resisting acceloration (like my brakes are being tapped every 2 seconds). i know my fuel pump is bad right now since im having long cranks when i start the car up but would that be part of it?? please help!!! thanks.

If you know your fuel pump is bad, you need to go into the dealer RIGHT AWAY. Don't drive it around because you will definitely REGRET IT if you get stuck somewhere.
IF and only IF you can drive it, drive it to the dealer. Otherwise, you will need to have it towed. And because you state that you are afraid to drive it, that's even a better reason to have it towed. Call the closest dealer immediately. Should you be worried? If you haven't done anything to it (mods to affect your warranty), you have nothing to worry about. They will run diagnostic tests on your car and will fix whatever they need to fix.

call your dealer and ask to talk to the service manager. tell them you are stuck and you need a car! I would call tomorrow (if your dealership's service dept is open tomorrow). You paid 50k for your car. You shouldn't have to worry about whether it's going to crap out between today and Thursday.

Like I said, talk to the service manager and let them know that you need this fixed immediately as this is a safety issue. Imagine this... driving on the freeway at night and your car craps out in the middle of the freeway. Some nut will not see you and may run into you. That's a scenario that very well could happen because you just never know when the fuel pump's going to crap out on you.

yeah... I hear ya. that's society though... they never take young-in's seriously, especially when you're driving a car that most 18 year olds can't afford.

yea it sucks. i think the service manager at the dealership i go to is seriously not a mechanic for bmw's. he tells me that the long cranks arent my fuel pump when every sign i have of it leads to a bad fuel pump and then my guess for the revving thing was a blown o2 sensor maybe? his guess were my turbos are about to blow up??? lol i dont understand that.

Did you forget that your car is 4 year/ 50k miles maintenance free Take it in ASAP, let them inspect the car, and have them provide you with a free loaner car

haha you make a good point there. the only reason i wasnt worried about bringing it in right away is because i have an rsx to drive around for the meantime but im trying to sell it so i dont want to rack up the miles on it. i wasnt sure if i could do that when they service dept. was closed
