lsturbointeg's garage build

Wanted to take you guys on my journey to building my ultimate dream garage all for my sexy Black Candy. She deserves a nice room to sleep in and for whatever maintenance her heart's desire I'll post progress pictures. 3 car garage measuring 37'x23' full LED lighting

So here's my design I came up with. The back wall measures 28.5'(342"). The Husky garage cabinet system I'm combining measures 320" all together. That will leave 11" of space on both sides. Cabinetswill be all black. The sink will remain in place as I was able to build around it.

The cabinet set includes:
5 Husky 30in. lockers (75 in. H x 30.6 in. W x 19.6 in. D)
3 Husky 24in 1-drawer 2-door base cabinets (33.4 in. H x 24 in. W x 16 in. D)
3 Husky 24in. 2-door base cabinets (33.4 in. H x 24 in. W x 16 in. D)
7 Husky 24in. wall cabinets (18.1 in. H x 24 in. W x 12 in. D)
1 Husky 48in. solid wood work surface (1.25 in. H x 48 in. W x 18.3 in. D)
1 Husky 72in. solid wood work surface (1.25 in. H x 72 in. W x 18.3 in. D)

Here's the back wall. I removed the old wire racks and sealed up all the holes

The Harbor Freight tool box measures 88" and that will sit on the left side wall.

With the walls I will paint with Home Depot's Behr Marquee color is Gateway Gray and the ceilings with Behr flat white.

Flooring will be the RaceDeck tiles which will consist of black, graphite, alloy and royal blue.

314 - Black Free-Flow Tile(s)
156 - Royal Blue Free-Flow Tile(s)
192 - Graphite Free-Flow Tile(s)
189 - Alloy Free-Flow Tile(s)

Sanded the walls down and got the spray texture done. Just waiting things to dry before I paint in a few hours

this has been a dream of mine for a long time and it's great the wifey put a budget for me to make this happen. I only had to sell one of the kids!

Ok so for half the garage painted. Debating whether to do some sort of stripping?

Currently waiting for the the rest of the Husky garage cabinets to come in. Also, got a discount from RaceDeck since working with the Sales people. Great customer service. They sent me more samples of the color scheme I'm going with. Still trying to get an accurate measurement on the garage

so today I was able to use the 4 samples RaceDeck sent me as patterns and more exact measurements in the garage. i was able to draw them out on the floors for better measuring. here's the final pattern. the red tiles are just markers for where the garage rails attach to the ground which gave me a starting point for the square pattern inside. the white area on the upper right is basically the shape of the garage so that's pretty much nothing. I like the bigger checkers inside the blue border as member DDD31 suggested and I agree...looks better

the back border isn't actually 3 tiles but 2.5 black tiles. the Husky cabinets measures 19.6" deep for the big tall cabinet which will allow 10.50" of black tile to show whereas the smaller cabinets are 16" deep which will show 14" of black tile in front of it. I think that's plenty

I use to be a Tagger back in the day so I did alot of murals and graffiti. Here's what I did in my game room back when I lived in San Diego. Thinking of doing some kind if BMW logo or something on one of the walls. Any ideas guys?

Digging the garage build thread! Sub'd. Anxious to see how this turns out. You're a hardworking dude and the end result always looks great. I know how badly I want to start mine, I can imagine how excited you are to work on this and even more so to have it finished.

A fellow tagger/graff writer!!! The tag pic isn't showing man. I'd like to see it. Shame we don't live closer, I've always wanted someone to colab with on some graffiti. Considering my age (and my lack of wanting to go to jail) I haven't done it in years.

So got the ceiling painted using HD's Behr flat white ceiling paint. Very nice and crisp clean!

Now I do wanna ask you guys if I should paint the garage rails at all? Black, silver?

also I was looking into maybe 3 garage stools. I was thinking of going with the blue theme from the tool box and the blue RaceDeck tiles. or just keeping them just black? what do you guys think? I couldn't find any bar stools with BMW logos.

Excellent job so far! I'm definitely subbed and will be following. We are thinking about building a garage too, but need to get some quotes on how much that will be. American and CAD labour are just out of this world different, so there is no comparison. At least if HGTV is to be believed on labour costs.

(Labour being much much cheaper in USA).

Looking good! As for wall hanging, I just have a BMW M flag and a Subaru Flag (for the wife).

Really interested to see how the floors come out

oh snap look what was left next to my garage door when I came home! the first order of the RaceDeck flooring I ordered. still have another $1400 to buy. this is only $1000 worth of flooring for now just so I can start building the Husky Garage cabinets on the back wall. black free flow and the blue. the blue actually doesn't look too bad compared to the tool box

Soo question about the flooring; what if you happen to spill something (like oil or antifreeze, etc...). It looks like it would just go through the flooring. Is it easy to take apart to clean the mess underneath?
