Power surging when engine cold

Whenever I first start my car in the morning and take off I get power surging for the first few minutes until it warms up. Does anybody have any idea what that would be?

Hmmm, that makes sense I guess. Seems like a big flaw for our cars though. I am using 0-40 Mobile 1 synthetic oil.

When you start up, do you wait for the kick down in RPM before going?

If you go within the first 45 seconds of startup without waiting for the kick down in RPM (High Idle Start), it will surge.

There is also another cold surge related to auto transmission warming up, I believe it's the torque converter lock-up, not 100%.

If neither of these apply, consider making a video.

Clean and swap vanos. If it improves, your on to something. Won't cost a penny, and will take 20min. Tops.

I have recently rebuilt the engine done transmission service. So those should be fine. This is about 2~3 minutes after I start off. Mainly my first full acceleration on the main road from my neighborhood. It does go away after warming up for 5 minutes or so.
