Winter time is coming..

Those that have had your cars in the MAR for the last year or so. I used to own a 2006 H3 Hummer, that was badass in the snow. Believe it or not, it was. Now I have my m3 and my e92 335i. I'm debating whether or not I should buy snow tires for my car, or just spend a few thousand and pick up a jeep Cherokee for the snowy days. I also like to go snowboarding quite a bit so I need something that can get through the snow pretty easy. What do you guys think..should i (A) Buy snowtires/wheels for my 335i, or (B) invest in a jeep of some sort for the snow days. I just don't know how these cars handle the snow..trying to get experience.

Thanks,
Mike

Truck huh. I'll think about that.

Anybody ever have an e30 325ix. Thinking about those too. Are the 335i's really that bad in the snow?

such is why I'm really leaning towards just picking up a 335xi instead of keeping my WRX and getting the I. It's such a pita having two cars in the city.

man up and get snow tires! what do you think za germans do! if you want something beefy go with Blizzaks. i had a set on my G35 coupe and went snowboarding with no problems. (i live close to you in PA) i got a set of conti-winters on my 335i coupe for winter, as i wanted a little more dry performance this time around.

+1 Exactly what I was thinking, you can even use it in the summer when you have to do some chores and don't want to get the BMW dirty.

OMG. People drive 335i's in countries where there really is significant amount of snow with no problems. Get winter tires and learn to drive in the snow And the car has so good traction control anyway that even when it is a rear wheel drive you should not have any problems. You just need to remember to be a little more careful in the winter.

I am taking my car to Finland, where we have snow for 4-5 months and the roads are not cleared with salt in the winter like you do here.
