Jerking/bucking issue when driving
I'm doing this post for my friend. He has a 2008 335xi with 118k miles ( 190k km).
He has had this odd issue that started not as often but now it is doing it almost always. Hot, cold, WOT, normal throttle it will all happen but usually only after shifting into a gear. So like if he keeps cruising at the same speed there is no bucking or jerking. But if he goes WOT most of the time it will occur, but not always, or shifting from 1rst to 2nd then just driving normally it will until he cruises. I have ZERO codes which is why I am making this post... I and he have no idea where to start. Also brings me to getting actual data logs... he doesn't want to pay for MHD. I tried to use ISTA but man, unless I am not using the software right, data logging in that is terrible and you can only show values from that same section. If someone knows way to proper datalog in ISTA please advise. Apparently he is hitting 17 PSI boost on no tune to... looking in ISTA so I'm thinking ISTA data is not really correct... . If we base of on ISTA again for rail pressure and LPFP pressure all seems good. The main thing we may think it is the HPFP or fuel injectors. He has Index 8 so that doesn't help and no reports of HPFP being replaced by PO. PO is not original owner of the car. I know we could change injectors and HPFP but considering he wants to sell his car he isn't looking at spending 2 grand, USD... Any advice on confirming more on the issue? |

Ohhh interesting thought could be maybe. I'll get the data log software that is recommended and if nothing pops up might be that. |
