Fan/blower controls not working - blower motor recall questions?
I tried to see if anybody had a similar experience to me and I don’t know if I’m bad at searching but I couldn’t really find anything exactly similar so please forgive me if it’s already been posted.
None of my climate control seems to be responding when turning on or changing the fan speed except when I am driving at higher speeds. I brought my car into the dealer for the recall and thought that it had something to do with the burnt out harnesses and would be fixed when I took my car in for the recall, however the dealer informed me that my “fan still isn’t working” and offered no further explanation. I had both recalls performed (final stage resistor and blower motor wiring harness, as far as I know) and am not really sure where to proceed from here? I have tried replacing the fuses to no avail. When driving at high speeds, the air is usually hot even when I have the temperature turned down and the control at the front switched to the cool side. Sometimes it blows cooler (doesn’t really seem to have any kind of rhyme or reason as to when it blows hot or cool) but if I try to switch the AC on, the air stops coming out of the vents at all. The defrost vents also follow the same kind of pattern, won’t work independently and won’t work unless driving at a high enough speed. Any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated because I don’t really want to go back to my (less than helpful) dealer! |

So your blower motor has failed? You are not getting any airflow from any vents? The blower recall replaces the harness going to the blower resistor and possibly the resistor depending on condition of the harness. If your blower wasn’t working when you went in, it wouldn’t work on it’s was out.
