Tool32 - SZL not coded program Initialization Error
I'm a complete novice at coding so I need a bit beginner's help here.
I've just done the heated steering wheel retrofit on my LCI 335i xDrive. Getting error 6DC7 (steering angle sensor not coded). Based on what I see in INPA I have DXC8_P, and when I try to run that in Tool32 I get the IFH-0018 error. In fact I get that error not matter what program I try to run. I've confirmed the obd.ini file in the EDIBAS folder has Port=Com1, which is the same setting as INPA (INPA is able to talk to the car so I know that's correct). Also couple questions about INPA - How do I know when to choose E90 or E89? For example: It seems INPA can see the DSC module only under E89. - Can INPA and Tool32 run at the same time? Or do they contend for the COM port and cable? Running the set from the links on Bimmergeeks Tools32: Version 4.03 INPA Bimmergeeks version 10/10/2017 Using the popular K+DCAN usb cable off Amazon. I tried NCS-Expert but it's all in German (how to fix?) thanks for any help / pointers! Last edited by Canuck335; 08-29-2019 at 05:24 PM.. |

Ok so problem with NCS expert is that when I load profiles, I have choices for Manipulation or Factory Coding.
Choosing either one, then the chassis (E89), then Choose ECU I only get ECU choices for KOMBI or TCU_MOST. No other ECUs are available. Last edited by Canuck335; 08-29-2019 at 08:29 PM.. |

I've cleaned the steering angle sensor disk and lens, even though it appeared clean. There was some residue on the microfiber though. Now, I'll make one last attempt to recalibrate the steering wheel after default coding DSC as described above. That's what I've understood I should try from all the forum reading. Waiting for ISTA to complete download, takes forever! If it still returns errors, I can conclude SZL is bad, right? Once I have this confirmation, I will then attempt to get the following part number 83192179894 and repeat the coding steps. If I'm doing anything wrong, please feel free to correct me. A little history, the car's DME/ECU was recently changed by workshop along with loads of suspension equipment, front and rear shocks, tie rods, and two tires. When I received the car, the christmas lights came with it. I am bone stock RHD 2007 335i e93. |

So i know this is a super old thread but i've been trying to fix this steering angle issue for weeks, ive got the brake light, sterring wheel with ! next to it, and the triangle with a circle around it with the ! inside. Ive been trying to use this guide so i can factory calibrate the DSC then run the tool32 szl fix. problem is when i try this method desribed here when i get to the choose cas part i choose and it comes back with an error "VIN is faulty COAPI_2000 : fehler in ediabas order in SG-besch" long ass germen error...
anyone know how to fix the error? Or a workaround of sorts? |
