Water Pump Or Battery/Voltage Issue
Battery, water pump, thermostat are all roughly about the same age I replaced them all about 8-9 months ago. Battery was coded as well. I’m well aware that the water pumps are shit and knew I’d have to replace it eventually again. But my question, can a voltage/power supply issue cause the the water pump codes? I ask due to the presence of the ibs missing and alternator missing codes.
Codes are: 3446 BSD Oil condition sensor: Missing 378F BSD message; electric coolant pump: Missing 3792 - Engine cooling system: Coolant pump speed out of tolerance 3847 - LIN / BSD message; Alternator missing 38A4 - BSD Message ibs missing |

Dash showed the battery this morning on the way to work. Seeing as how the battery is basically brand new I assume it’s the alternator or voltage regulator. Today was the first time I’ve seen the voltage below 12 since replacing the battery. Going to check the ibs lead this weekend as I did repair the wiring same time as the battery.

Got a new code today which gives me a troubleshooting path 384A
Any of yall had success only swapping the voltage regulator? While I prefer the cheaper option I prefer more to do something once..in other words I dont want to take out the alternator to replace the regulator and the issue be the alternator bc then I gotta take it out again. Batter dash light also didnt come back on the drive home |
