sunoco 100 octane in my tank :)

so i went and put about half a tank of sunoco gt 100 in my tank yesterday. the car feels awesome, it almost feels smoother, but even part throttle feels fast!
all i have is a SSTT and drop in K&N. did anyone ever dyno a SSTT e92 AT with K&N and 100 octane?

i actually have 3 gallons of 93 and 6 gallons of 100 so i think that about 98 octane. car feels great, still need to do some full throttle bursts tho. cant wait

Funny, last time at the track at Button Willow, I filled up with straight up 100 octane, and felt no difference what so ever.. Thought it was the biggest waiste of money..

It shouldn't make too much of a difference if you're not tuned for the higher octane.

I beg to differ with my setup, without changing/adjusting anything... i gained 19whp / 23wtq with just a tank of 100 vs. 93

i mean i dif felt the part throttle reponse felt smoother more responsive somewhat, did some 4k blast it felt like it had more authority. i havent passed WOT passed 4k yet since my area there is nowhere to do so safetly, but tonite i hope to do some WOT blasts.

i mean i know with the SSTT guys, when they go from 91 to 93 without doing anyting they pick up some 10WHP or so i ave been seeing

anyone?

btw thanks for the responses.

putting in 104 at the track w a 1/4 tank of 93 octane really woke my car up....this was w/ JBX a few months ago. Car felt much much faster. My guess is the timing was not being pulled by the ECU, maybe even advanced. I liked the feeling! So much so that I think I shed a tear when putting more 93 back in on the way home....

maybe MR.5 can chime in or the people who ran on this dyno day.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=18

things i would want to know is,
were all the runs done in 4th gear or the same gear?
AT or MT?
the first dyno run with the SSTT was with what octane?

as it seem here, a intake and 100 octane added 33WHP and 14 FTLB's over a SSTT alone car!!!?? i took these from both the highest runs of both SSTT runs. interesting thing to note psi wise is that on both runs 12.2X sstt alone and 12.2x sstt, intake and 100oct., the PSI both engine were putting out was about the same but one yeilded over 30whp from a intake and octane without increasing the psi?
my guess one was done in 4th and the other in 3rd mr 5?

I've put a mix of 100 in my car a couple times... You can feel the difference after driving around a little bit. Nothing crazy but the gain is there.

Ive been running 100 octane for the past 2 weeks with my JB3 and AFE intake and I spoke to Terry personally and I should see at least 20-30 whp with the Tune automatically adapting for it.........obviously a race gas map would optimize this the most, but I felt a big difference!!

I just put 5 gallons of 100 octane in my tank a couple nights ago. I already had some 91 in there, so I'm estimating that I'm at about 94 octane. The car does feel like it "woke up" as someone else put it. It's the perfect description for the feeling. Like I switched from decaf gas to caffeinated gas.

I just have an SSTT. Could be placebo but who knows. I don't think it's worth a dyno.

WOW

19whp just by going from 93 to 100 octane? I wonder how much boost you'd get going from crappy CA 91 octane to 100.

i alos contacted xs***** via the link '5SOKO335i' provided, who dyno'd his SSTT with 100 octane the same day a 91 octane SSTT dyno and he got about 18WHP aswell, but i wanted to make sure the dyno were all done in the same gear.

Both SSTT cars that day were AT and were both dyno'd in 4th gear. 338WHP was put down with 100Oct, HVI Intake and full exhaust. Bimmerlex (305whp) just had 91Oct and SSTT. 100Oct can easily add another 5-10hp with SSTT.

SSTT and 100Oct FTW!

Boost will not change. Just refer back to the link 5soko335i provided above. 91Oct vs 100Oct dynos had about the same boost: ~12.2 psi.
