Anyone ever try something like this before?(headunit)

So I tried the search function but all the results for screen/headunits came up with the ones that go into the dash. I love the look of this, but since you essentially need to carve up the top of your dash, I'm a bit weary..So just wondering if anyone here has tried something like this? Or anything similar? I have a 2011 E93 without iDrive, so no screen currently

There is a big thread on this Avin Unit
These piggyback on the existing system using the
Aux for audio Input. Trouble is the Aux is low fi
Input.

I installed it in my car. Been using it for about a month now. So far it’s doing just fine. Only issue is like what ctuna mentioned, it’s using the aux input so don’t expect great sound. Not bad audio still.

Awesome, thanks so much you guys! I have the H/K speakers so I want to try to keep the good audio quality if I can..
