just installed the jb3 pnp

just got done with it, whew! getting into the ecu scared the shit out of me, first thing first when putting in connectors do not force them in trust me! next when you start up the car and see no codes its a good feeling, but don't wig out if you see an exclamation point because your car wants you to set the time, other than that i am a novice and the install was about a 5 out of 10 for me, never been in an ecu before except to just switch the whole thing out, took me about 45 minutes, took it for a spin around the block and the power is there, just need to let it adapt will get some more time in the car tonite, either way pnp rocks but really the pin out version would have been the same, pnp is nice and neat but if you follow the directions on the pin-out would have probably been the same amount of time, either way i am off to test this thing out some more thanks terry for the oppurtunity

p.s.

when removing the slider from the small subconnector there are two small holes on the bottom use a small nail and push up and it will release the small connector

Not to steal your tread, but I got my PNP in my mailbox today and intalled it . Overall the install was extremely easy, took me about an hour since i did'nt have all the tools ready. In the manual it talks about how the big ECU connector is hard to get it back in. Well it looks like the JB3 connector sticks out a little bit more than the OEM. The only thing you have to do is slide the sub connector into the main connector a little more and it'll fit perfectly... If not then you may need to grind the edges a little on the JB3 connector.

The power is very smooth.. Normal driving feels like OEM. pushing the car and you can really see the MPH climb up. You don't feel the instant tq rush anymore but the power is def still there.

I had the SSTT and sold it 2-3weeks ago and been driving it stock since then.

maybe its best not to have a million threads with each person talking about how long it took to install and so forth.....

After reading all these positive threads is making me want one more & more. I would need to purchase and install an AFE at the same time though.

I have a Dinan Stage 2 that I'd be willing to run for a little bit of research for the good of the forum...If anyone is interested let me know!

hey guys,
while attaching the small connector back to the ECU, i tried doing with the slider in but not in all the way, and it didn't work for some reason, i figure i had to put in more force because i did that with the bigger connector and it went in with the slider. So since the smaller connector didn't go in at first with the slider, i took the slider out and attached the connector to the ECU thinking that I could slide in the slider after. But now i can't put the slider in and the connector is locked to the ECU so i can't even pull it back up to put the slider back in it.
Can someone help me plz?

The connector isn't pushed down all the way.
Take it out and try it again.

but it is, its stuck as if it is locked. It is as low as the other connector is which has the slider in it. This is the problem. i'll try it again later, I'm just scared pulling the ECU out if i pull too hard. I think the slider just acts as something that unlocks what ever lock there is that is holding the connector in place with the ECU and since its not there anymore, the connector cannot get unlocked
