I like the tail lights and thank the gods that the grill hasn't been made into a joke.

Let's just hope the new 2 coupe gets a similar update ... oh and stay RWD, offer manual and B58 engine.

(The BMW execs read all these comments, right?)

I also really hope it stays RWD, with an inline 6 and a manual. The 2 series/M2 is the only BMW I like and would buy, which is why I own one. If it didn't exist, I would have jumped ship to Merc/Porsche (although I guess I already have technically )

The 2 GC is fwd/awd and automatic only. UKL platform.

But, from what they have shown, even this 2 GC already more attractive to me than the design on the new 3 Series.

If the 2 Coupe is the new 330Ci then the 2 GC is the new 3 sedan. I'm curious how the FWD handling will be.

Original 3 series is back? From the spy photos this looks just as chunky as the A3 from Audi

There is always the possibility that some of we XDrive-avoiders might actually prefer it this time, assuming a heavy rear bias and only sending torque forward if/when needed. OTOH, let's see how well BMW can do FWD.

Unfortunately the UKL platform used on the transverse engined 1/2 series, X1/X2 and Mini platforms uses a Haldex V system with no centre differential, so torque can only be varied from close to 100/0% front/rear to 50/50% front/rear, as the Haldex clutch pack only engages the rear drive shaft to a varying degree to channel torque to the rear differential.

Will be completely overshadowed by the Corvette embargo that day, not that this is a big premiere, but all the auto news is gonna focus on the C8.

It will probably be very much like the m135i hatch in europe right now. I've seen quite a few videos on YouTube and magazine reviews on the m135i. Basically it is not as quick as the b58 variant nor with the same sound. However it would still be a quick sporty car. No rwd only it will be drive 50 50 and no manual only a aisin sourced auto...not the zf. This might be a replacement for my m2 in the spring will have to see reviews and I need a test drive of this b48 engine. It is currently in at least Canada in the x2 m35 saw one today at dealer and the mini jcw...one of those will be my early chance to feel the engine even though diff platforms. The interior will be identical to the current m135i I am seeing. Too bad they didn't do sweeping needles for tach and speed.

I'm not very interested in how well BMW can do FWD. I will never know.
