defective SSTT?

I've been running my SSTT flawlessly for the past few months... I'm going out of town for a week and offered to lend a friend the tune to try in his car (e92 335i) while I am gone.. bad idea apparently ..

I installed it as usual in his car, and as soon he started it up he got CEL ' engine malfunction-reduced power '. I tried the unit back and my car and mine threw a CEL too. Although in idrive under car services, it said all systems were OK Both cars are still showing engine lights without the sstt installed...

This a possible defective unit? Any ideas? I had no issues till tonight..

I don't think there is anything that we can do for you on the forum. I would double check the wiring and make sure that there are no cuts and nothing is loose.

if the CEL dont go away even after the car has been shut off and without the SSTT installed, check to make sure you put the car to sleep when taking the TMAP sensor on or off.if you have done this, make sure the TMAP plug is pushed and connceted well to the TMAP sensor.

+1

Did you put the car to sleep prior to install/uninstall?

Ahhh .. after looking over the sstt again I noticed one of the wires was slightly loose.. I could hardly see it.. I pushed it back in, reinstalled and disconnected the batt and the CEL is gone. I can sleep in peace now, thannks guys..
