N55 Intermittent Code and fueling issue
I have a 2011 335i N55 80k miles and at times when I am driving the car it will run like its misfiring but I know its not. I have recently changed the valve cover and spark plugs, I changed them due to a whine the car had diaphragm in the valve cover was bad and might as well change the plugs.
So after that couple weeks went by and I am getting this code 2C01 High Pressure Fuel Plausibly Pressure too low. I the fuel rail pressure sensor thinking it was bad and still continued to happen. The car at times will run good and drive fine, but sometimes I get a crazy idle like it needs more fuel and sometimes dies. I checked the hpfp pressure and its all over the place it jumps around from 2k to 1k to 800 so I am thinking the hpfp is bad. Also I don't think its the injectors only get the 2C01 code. When it runs like shit triggers the code but after it starts running good code goes away. What do you guys think? |

Try Cheaper fixes first. Fuel Pump Regulator could be the issue. Same code for me and thats how i fixed mine. Got the code, Hesitant startups, etc...

If you have ISTA/D, it will pull the code, and after you see the code, the program will actually test each components (the sensor, the fuel pump, hpfp, low fuel pressure for each rail). One rail is like around 50 psi and the other is around 80 psi. I just had that code up weeks ago, but luckily it seems like its a low voltage issue. The software is great, get it if you don't have it!
