Just ordered the AFE Dual Cone intake

I had been holding off for a while because I didn't like the Vishnu or BMW dual cones as the intake manifold under the stock airbox looks like crap, but finally AFE has made a sweet looking kit that covers up the area that is ugly once your remove the airbox - it is a bit more money, but I got it from www.trinityautosports.com which has the best price by miles at $319 shipped and Joe at trinity even responded to several of my emails on Sunday and upgraded my shipping for a good price to get it here before the weekend (he had dry filters in stock and will have more oiled filter kits in a few days.)

Can't wait to try it out - many others have posted good results and the pics of the kit look great installed!

Price is for everyone - you just use coupon code AFE SO and that is posted right on the product page. The difference in the filters is they both last about the same amount of time, are washable and reusable, but the oiled ones flow a little more are - dry are like 80% more than stock, oiled are about 92% more than stock, but the reason then flow more is they have bigger holes and use the oil to help trap dirt, but the specs show that the dry catches more particles. To me the oiled are just a hassle and you would have to have a pretty big tune to need that extra 12% more air in my book!

I got mine from Joseph as well, $319 and I picked it up from him as he is local for me. Correction to his link however, it is www.trinityautosport.com (not trinityautosports.com, that gets you to a shop in FL, Joseph is in Cali)

Not another one

I have owned my car 2 months and I have already had 3 different air filter set-ups in it and I am trying to not make this the 4th.

Bought the Helene filter while my car was on order. After it got here I jumped on the dual cone setup ( BMS) which gave a neat increase in sound and now that I have a tune more power I expect.

The AFe does look very nice and the oiled filters would have slightly better resistance, but is it significant? Probably not. The heat shield to reduce heat soak is also probably more significant if you are a drag racer waiting on the line or a dyno queen where there is little air flow into the car. At speed, maybe not needed.

It does look nice and I do like the connection to the existing air duct.

Will have to resist....... this is not my track car....this is not my track car......

So, I guess he doesn't charge tax if you pick it up? 'cause I was trying to order it from his web site, and it was $319 + ~$30 tax which came up to $350 total...

That's correct. I called Joseph up and I ordered it as COD. No tax was added, and I picked it up locally in Irvine. It was very convenient for me.

The web site lists it for $399, but when you add it to your shopping cart, you use the coupon code "afe so" while checking out and $80 discount is applied. The shipping is free to the lower 48 states in the checkout and additional $30 to Canada.

Update - just got it - Joe at Trinity is awesome - great communications, best price by far anyplace, which means everyone else is making $100+ for taking your money.

Paid a couple bucks more to upgrade the shipping and ordered money afternoon, 2days later I have it across the country and ready to go.

Trinityautosports.com has my vote - good service and best prices!

gmazet - yep you got screwed twice, once on price and once on service - cancel that sucker and get it someplace else!

It's trinityautosport.com - no "s" after "sport".

Got mine from joe too, was one of the first to get this part in, Joe is a really cool guy and a great vendor, If you want this intake get it from joe, it is the lowest price and his shop is like 20 minutes away from afe (hence the short waiting time)
