I saw an R8 in person at my last track event. Wasn't that impressed after looking at it a while. It was in my group, but it was never near me on the track. The racecar looks awesome though.

Trust me..with Biela driving a well sorted out R8 street race car...with nice race rubber and alignment...along with over 500 bhp..you wont be able to hang with him at Miller Motorsports. The vast majority of people that own those cant drive on track well. Kinda like many of the Porsche owners. And before you porsche owners jump all over me..there are very fast porsche owners out there...I am fully aware of that.

Porsche drivers are lightning fast compared to anyone driving a Cadillac CTS, Cadillac STS, Cadillac CTS-V, etc..... IMHO the people driving those on the track have them because of HP and drive like crazy people. I had two in my group last event.

+1 I saw several examples at Thill last weekend

I attend DEs with crappy machines in the hopes of not being one of them when I get my hands on a P-car

While I would agree that a well sorted R8 would eat me alive...the R8 guy who I kept on a leash was a local to that track and running in the instructor group, FWIW.

A well sorted 335i is equivalent to a stock R8 on R-comps, lol. Not bad, eh?
