Exclamation Audi R8 race version revealed!

http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080827....sion-of-the-r8

Pics are in the above link. It wont let me attach them.

Basically:

- power upgraded to 500bhp
- uses a RWD system instead of 4WD
- 6speed sequential gearbox
- obvious body treatment.

I think it's cool how it is rated at 500bhp which is what the new V10 R8 will be putting out. It also has front/rear intakes which will feature on the R8 V10 model and has the wider side intakes!

What do those Audi fans, and particularly those who are big Quattro fans think of Audi's decision, for a car truly designed to go fast and corner fast? I.e. they went to RWD!

Car look mean from the front.

swamp,

You should know better than to use a cheap trick like that. If you want to race in this series you have to have rwd...............the end.

Swappy come on man, read up little more on this subject.

They were forced to change to RWD.

"Because the GT3 regulations prohibit the use of four-wheel drive the Audi R8 comes with the typical GT rear-wheel drive."

Nope I didn't. I am a fan in general of racing, lots of type of racing, but not an addict nor one who follows rules, news and subtleties of each type/division. Sorry, an ignorant comment I guess.

Quite alright mate.

Very few forms of motorsport allow awd cars to take part, rallying being the most obvious exception.
