450whp

Hey guys I'm looking to make 450whp in my 2011 335i coupe. I'm going to do full bolt ons, mhd, and an upgraded turbo. Mainly wanting something like pure stage 1. What other turbo options from other companies do I have beside pure turbos? I don't want to run meth or E85 but I do have E85 around me.

Stage 1 can't reach that. Pure stage 2 can easily with E30 fuel on stock fuel system. Pump 93 best you will get with PS2 on an aggressive tune is about 425whp.

Weehe is correct. You will need a "stage 3" kit to hit 450whp on pump gas. Speedtech and bigboost I would say are the most common so far but I honestly am not paying attention to stage 3 development.

I assume by you quoting the PS1 and not wanting to run E85 or meth is due to cost?

Cost is a little issue but I'm not really familiar with meth kits so I think I might just go stage 2 and see where it puts me.

PS2 on an N55 will get you to about 420whp on pump. Maybe around 450whp if you do e40 mix

Shawn, save yourself some effort and yes money and go PS2. Many of us here went PS1, only to find that wasnt enough, and went with PS2 when it was made available. The difference between PS1 and PS2 is akin to the difference between ooh and ahh.

Thank you. I guess I'm going to need to save up. Pure stage 2 looks about $3000+ after being shipped

Some of the vendors will have it on sale for BF. I picked it up for ~$2800 shipped with install kit.

Yep I think you'd be happy with a PS2 and a 93 Oct MHD custom tune.

I got quoted $2,565.00 shipped for pure stage 2. Does that seem fair with installation kit and upgraded diverter valve?

Seems like the new "v3" turbo is making a bit more power with its revised wheels.

I plan on doing it myself hopefully it isn't too hard. Many people say it's not hard just time consuming and about 12 hours of work

9-12 normally. Shop rate and competency varies.

Having the tools and space is important. I ran into a couple snags and it took me an embarrassing 20 something hours to install the first time. I spent 12 hours going back to stock.

Took me 18 hours the first time. A significant amount of that time was due to getting the hard lines out of the stock turbo.

It should absolutely pass a visual inspection but I will say that Pure at some point appears to have started either coating or painting the manifold. An inspector wouldn't know that it didn't come that way though.
