MSD81 bricked after MHD 1.9 Update

Hi guys

Yesterday I updated my MSD80 N54 with v8.1 maps without problems, so I wanted to update a friends MSD81 N54 also with v.8.1 maps. The flash failed with writing to section error right after 0%, and every other attempt also failed. Since I'm an experienced coder and flasher since years and hundrets of cars, I tried to recover the DME with BMW tools. But nothing, neither with different cables, nor with WinKFP, nor with ISTA-P and ICOM, nor with NFS anything did work. I still have communication with the DME, but it fails straight after it starts to write to the EEPROM.

Since I didn't read any issues in the MHD threads I thought that it may be bad luck and need a new MSD81. We contacted a guy who repairs and sells MSD81, and he told us that yesterday a lot of people contacted him with the same problem after MHD 1.9 update. So I wanted to ask here if anyone encountered the same problem?

Greets

Wow, how did you figure that one out? Also, did you just remove the connector in by the rear taillight? Asking because I'm getting a valved exhaust setup soon.
