Dinan front spring height
'08 335xi E90. I just switched from 100% stock suspension to Bilstein B8s and Dinan D100-0925s, which are supposed to drop front and rear 1/2". The ride and handling are great, but the fronts are REALLY high - slightly higher than stock.
Installation notes: New front top mounts I loosened the thrust rod bushing bolts, disconnected the end links, and drove over bumps to make sure the bushings were settled properly before putting it on ramps and torquing. In the rear, I did install the plastic spacers between the upper spring seats and cups. New rear mounts, top and bottom Any thoughts? Thanks! Here's how it looks: Front: Back: |

Yes, as @fcobra94 states. Replied to your other thread as well about the bilsteins. Their hush nitrogen pressure also raises your effective spring rate, which raises your car a bit as well

I say go for taller tires and wheels like I did. LoL. I'll be sure to take measurements when I do my Bilstein kit, with OE springs and new OE xi xDrive strut top mounts

Bumping an old thread....
I just had the same setup installed on my 335is. The shop ordered new top strut mounts with the install. I have the same front wheel gap - raised 3" higher and not 1/2" lower. Was this due to the strut mounts? Or something else like a bad install job? |

Very strange, I've had no issues with ride height after the first 1k miles of settling in. BMW P springs are same as Dinan and I replaced all rubber

Wow, I just looked at those pics for the first time in forever. That was crazy high. They did settle down from there pretty quickly and are now much lower, but still higher than the rears.

echoing everything said here - 335xi, coupe, dinan springs, koni yellows and the bump stop kit, plus all new connecting hardware (mounts, upper, lower pads both front and back) and camber plates... wow the front was like a 4x4 with 19s (235x35) -- it had a full fist worth of space. I thought the exact same thing, "something is VERY WRONG" and had someone come do a spot check.
Now, it's been settling and its now closer to normal. It's not quite there yet, but I haven't driven it much.

They handle well and feel fine, but if I ever rebuild the suspension again, I'll probably try the H&R Sport springs, just to attempt to alleviate the reverse rake.

Is the Dinan spring lower than the ZSP springs? I'm on ZSP springs right now and would like something with a higher spring rate and maybe not as low.

It's been 3 weeks now since my install and my 335is is still sitting 1.5 higher ... center bore to under wheel well arc is 14.5 inches. Not happy with the outcome.. I already have an SUV
