Smile JuiceBox 3 Beta - BMW 135i M Sport Coupe Dynos

Here is the only dyno chart I have currently (waiting on the others to turn up) Jim mentioned the car peaked at an IMPRESSIVE 258 Rear Wheel Kilowatts

The first line shows the standard car putting out 200 RWKW (STOCK), the other line is one of the runs showing 246 RWKW (JB3). These measurements are in DIN rating, if you want to compare to the US numbers you need to convert to SAE and Horsepower. Drive train losses are around 13%

This was using the ultra accurate DynaPack Dynometer. None of this US DynoJet rubbish! I saw the dyno graphs for Daniel's Proceed V3 335i - Daniel, did you fix your pinging issues? Jim was a bit sceptical about the power claims I made before installing the JB3 after the results of the Proceed on other car's he's worked on but was VERY impressived with the Juicebox power and curve. Near identical to the stock curve. Max boost is 14.5, lower than the Proceed also.

More dynos to come (hopefully the one showing 258 tomorrow when I get the info from Jim)

Good gains! Would be great to see it on a Dyno Dynamics in Shootout mode though.

1q2w3e4r, why? Regardless of dyno operator or dynometer theres a 46rwkw gain in paper and another showing 58. I thought the point was to show the difference between mods not obtain the highest number possible? if that was the case I'd show you a US dynojet figure

In any case, when the car was brand new (under 1k on the clock) it threw down 175rwkw on a ALS Performance dynometer if that helps.

Dastrix,

Nice gains.

Mine dyno'd at Jims at 234kw about 16mths ago on V1.47 so I'd expect to get better numbers today.

Good to see more modded N54's around Sydney.

Cheers,

S

P.S. If you see a Montego 335 better not race it

Cool beans! I saw a V3 VProceed dyno chart on the same screen as mine (Jim brought it up as a comparision, it was danielg's 335 with V3) so if you've upgraded I'd still pip you

The Vishnu makes a bit more in the midrange due to increased boost over the JB3 but dies off top end as per the graphs. You're also running more boost than me.... if you are using a V3 I'd be happy to run you

Remember I'm a bit fair bit lighter (some 142.9kilograms) don't eat dinner the night before ok?

Jim has a fairly nice setup down there doesn't he? What did your car make stock out of interest?

I'd say V3 and JB3 are probably line ball & car for car there would not be too much difference.

I've got some RR DP's to be installed and then I'll think about getting on the dyno again, but I'm not overly concerned about dyno numbers.

Yes Jim has a nice set up, I did not do a stock dyno so no idea if she was a lemon or not from the factory.

Good luck with the DP install!

Did daniel fix the pinging issues with the V3?

Because they are more widely used, have universal settings and read lower, not higher than the other stuff out there.

No idea what dyno ALS use, but its throwing out 200kw as the baseline on this one as you suggested, bone stock, which shows a drivetrain loss of around 8%, much lower than Dyno Dynamics

But yeah, main thing is just the difference between before and after. Power figures don't mean much because of the reasons you listed, best way to work out how much power your car is making is to take it to a drag strip to gauge the results.

Regardless, its a good result and must make it that much more enjoyable to drive!

Ahhhh.....Dyno's only tell part of the story. Put it on the road and many variables come into play.
A few of us are running Quaife LSD diffs (WOPALX included) and for putting power down under hard accelleration no amount of DSC/DTC is going to help hook up and put the power down.
I have a 335 steptronic coupe that weighs 1,540kg (Sedan weighs 1,525kg). From resources and specs I have seen, the 135 weighs in at 1,485 kg . That makes it only a 55 kg weight penalty for the step 335 and 40kg for the manual.
In regards to the Procede V3, we are basically running preliminary maps and Vishnu is working on various improved map tunes and the addition of launch control.......interesting times ahead.
