Jersey cops suck....
ok so i was driving back to my girlfriend's house saturday night after we went to seaside heights for the night.im not familiar with that area because im from new york so i took my girl's dads garmin. that thing got me a little lost so im tryin to help my girl fix it and before i know it i see the lights flashing in my rearview mirror. the street was very wide and looked like a 2 way so i was about to pull over to the left but at the last second decided to pull over to the right to be safe. so he comes to my window and does the usual routine and tells me i was goin 45 in a 35. i told him im not from the are and he responds with "neither am i" WTF?!?! he ot only gave me a ticket for the 45 in a 35 but also for "swerving" ( i dont remember the exact term he used) when i wasnt sure if it was a 2 way or a one way. anyway i was wondering that bc i have a NY license does my insurance hear about it if i just pay the fine? i know for a fact that the points dont tranfer to my license itself but im not sure about the insurance ( i have allstate btw) should i fight it? what d you guys think?
thanx guys Last edited by bkM3; 09-01-2008 at 01:39 AM.. Reason: btw he was caught me by paceing me... my escort 8500 didnt go off |

NY/NJ are linked bro you have to go to Seaside Court unfortunately and speak to the prosecuter. I've been there 4-5 times myself its not a fun place to be and sometimes they keep your ass there all day but bottomline you'll pay the fines and not get points!!

hahaha seasideeee..FUN FUN FUN..pay the fine, y fight it, ur out of state. and being a resident of jersey, theres not really too many ways out, i would either plead guilty and get points lowered and pay fine or the pay 350/400$ and get 0 points but thats like 3 times within 5 years or so LOL. luckily im an eagle scout and i have a special gold card that has got me out of 3/4 of tickets, i'm 19 with only 4 pts. and a heavy foot haha. just pay the fine, it will go to your insurance though :/..jest drive well my friend haha that CURE insurance commercial is the $hit

Only NY drivers would think it ok to pull over on the left.

You are from out of town..thats why he bagged on you. You dont influence his job next year, thats why...I get bothered by Fort Lee all the time, but they can do nothing. I just get hit with parking tickets (overnight, have to be a resident) cuse I dont do anything illegal. |

Being friends with ALL Troopers and Cops in jersey. My friends are all the cool ones though. The best thing to do is go the court and speak to the prosecutor. Do not take a lawyer. Be honest to the Prosecutor, adn if you havent gotten any points in last 2 years for the same offense, chances are they will downgrade and charge ou $194, and maybe failure to wear a seatbelt or somthing.
GOOD LUCK!! |

failure for seatbelt is just as bad as points..the insurance company will get wind of that and you will be paying for it for the next 3 years. |

Dude i have 8 points on my licenses and im 21 years old.. Last week i whent to court if i din't i would have 11 points on my licesences so i fought it and only got 2 and instead of paying 250+ i only payed 139 bucks... So i think you should if you don't want your insurance to go up.... Just my 2 cent dude....Your 21 and i bet your insurance goes up the roof huh? Yea mine is around 6 thousand a year...
