Hi Porsche959,

On a Pre-LCI E90, the 18x9.5" ET35 will work in the rear as a direct fit with up to a 265/35-18 tire.

In the front, the 18x9.5" ET35 will be a very aggressive fitment. In most cases, it will require 5mm spacers to clear the inner suspension components, along with upwards of -3.0 degrees of camber to help with rubbing on the outer fenders. This fitment is typically reserved for track-focused vehicles with a need for an aggressive square setup to run the widest tires possible at all four corners.

Additionally, a 235/40-18 tire is going to be quite small and stretched on an 18x9.5" wheel. That tire size would be much more ideal on an 18x8.5" or 18x9" wheel.

If your goal is to run a 235/40-18 tire as a square setup, I would suggest running one of the following fitments:

Front & Rear: 18x8.5" ET35 or ET38 with 235/40-18 tires
-Direct fit
-OEM 225/40-18 tires can also be used.
-245/40-18 tires can also be used, but 5mm front spacers may be required -with certain aftermarket suspensions, see below.

Front & Rear: 18x9" ET30 or ET31 with 255/35-18 tires
-Direct fit.
-5mm front spacers may be required with certain aftermarket suspensions, see below.

Either of the above setups will offer a more ideal wheel size for the 235/40-18 tires you mentioned. Also, both of these setups will be a direct fit on a stock Pre-LCI E90 such as yours.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
