Replace dead Hifi amp with logic 7 amp?

Hi I am not very knowledgable of audio so looking for some insight and help. My Hifi amp got wet and died, I have a friend locally that has a logic 7 amp. Can I replace my Hifi amp with a logic 7 amp or will it not work because of connectors/wiring?

The Logic 7 amp uses fiberoptic signals for and Input and is also
9 channels .
The Hi Fi amp uses analog inputs and is only 6 channels.
The connectors are totaly different.
The head unit would have to be reprogrammed for Logic 7 output
you would have rewire the amp connector it's not a practical
thing to do.

You can get used Hi Fi amps on ebay or the Internet for 50 to 200 bucks.
The ones built up to 09 are black and the ones from 2010 foward are silver.

You could get a Technic Harness and a 6 channel aftermarket
amp and that would be and upgrade to the system.

Thanks ctuna, figured it wouldn't be as easy as plug and play. I'll look for a Hifi replacement unit

Thats great news. My little Joying unit has a built in DSP and 16 band EQ. I'm going to play with that in terms of learning how to tune and then see about getting the match unit.

Well it might be 15 minutes to plug in the AMP.
But you really need to run thick power wires to the battery
with a fuse.

I have a JL 600/6 and its great but it being the best I
am not so sure about that . It used to be the standard solution
for Hi Fi

I wish there are some cheaper options. The JL 600/6 is $620, plus the harness and cables, we are looking at close to $800 after tax. That is just the AMP alone and not upgrading the speakers. I think I will just keep my HiFi system stock.

I can say that Match it is not the best solution for your money ..the price is high because it is PnP for bmw ..

there are many options but according to traders helix dsp 2 is the better choice + amp

never felt the need to run thicker wires in the past 6 months. but my car is about Sound Quality, not loudness.

I am talking about DC Supply Wires not speaker wires.
Any quality amp install does this and the Factory Harness power wires
are dinky.

You do not need to run power wires for the Match UP7BMW, if you use their wiring harness. In fact, users manual strictly prohibits it.

I would get a BimmerTech amp. Plug and play, designed for your system and will give great sound from what I've read.
