I grew up listening to them when they first hit the scene. I am so glad I got to see them live a few times. RIP Neil Peart.

I'll get flamed for this, but I loved the newer Counterparts album. I worked at Camelot at the time of its release and we had it for in-store play. Great album, much more contemporary sound, especially the groove of Animate. |

RIP. Neil was not a master of his craft, he was the master.

Very sad. One of my favorites. Like many young drummers I sometimes would spend hours playing along to Tom Sawyer and YYZ making sure I was nailing every fill perfectly.

Saw Rush at Irvine in July 2015. That was the tail end of their last tour.
As many have and will say, Neil Peart, will forever be remembered as the greatest of all time. And for the record, his name is not pronounced Neil “Purt”. Always cringes when folks would say his name like that. |

Glad I saw them live on their last tour. He was a humbled talent. He suffered the tragedy of losing his daughter and first wife. He was an avid motorcycle rider, riding to each show on his BMW motorcycle
Here is a great interview with them: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...lifeson-59586/ |
